Fall is in full-swing at Twisters! Classes are booming, parties are rocking and kids have been having a blast at our no-school Gymnastics Fun Days. We recently celebrated FIVE (you read that correctly: FIVE) Twisters seniors on this year’s College Signing Day. Keep an eye out for a post on that very soon!
Today we want to take the time to celebrate a Twisters LEGEND. If you’ve been a member at our Boca Raton location, then you know her and you love her. She’s the MVP of the office, the ultimate organizer, and always a friendly, smiling face welcoming you to the gym. She’s been with Twisters for 16 years, helping to shape and grow Twisters in to the powerhouse organization that we are today. She’s a true treasure, not only to us as employees who work with her, know her and love her…. but she’s also a treasure to our Twisters families. She is the one… the only…. TRACY!!!
As much as it pains us to bid her farewell, we can’t think of a person more deserving of a fun, relaxing and enjoyable retirement. Along with her legacy of being an incredible Office Manager at our Boca Raton location, she also leaves behind a family legacy. Her son Shane and nephew Kory are leaders within the Twisters organization as well, as the Business Development Coordinator and Recreational Director at Boca Raton.
We couldn’t let Tracy go without interviewing her about her incredible career and her experiences at Twisters. Take a peek and see what she said!
1.What attracted you to Twisters?
Gymnastics was a big part of my life from a very young age. I had posters all over my room with the likes of Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci. I competed in high school and college at East Stroudsburg University, and was a judge and coach for many years. Later, when one of my 3 beautiful sons started doing cartwheels in the living room, I enrolled him in gymnastics at Twisters. He became a member of the Boys’ Team and I loved watching him learn and compete. Then, when he retired from competition, I was offered a position at Twisters and was glad to continue in a field that I love, and I’ve been here for 16 years!
2.What makes Twisters different from other places you’ve worked?
Twisters is different in the way they care about their staff. We are a big family and are given opportunities for growth and to become the best forms of ourselves! Twisters also has a culture where we will do whatever it takes to make our customers have the best experience ever.
3.What brought you the most joy in your job at Twisters?
I love seeing children learn and love what they do here. Although my job is in the office, sometimes I will watch what is going on in the gym and it reminds me of what we do best here—helping children learn skills and develop confidence and seeing them overcome obstacles and fear.
4.What are you most excited about in retirement?
I am so excited to begin a new chapter in my life! My husband and I will be moving to Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, which is a community filled with people who want to have fun in their later years. There are activities galore and a strong social connection with an emphasis on supporting each other and giving back. I also look forward to having more freedom to travel!
5.What will you miss the most about working at Twisters?
I will certainly miss the people I work with! I’ll miss their smiles, their energy, and the family atmosphere we’ve developed. I will also miss seeing happy children every day, but hopefully I will have grandchildren someday that will fill that void!
Tracy, we as an organization are so blessed to have had you with us for so long. You’re a fantastic role model for our Twisters staff, a model employee, a customer service magician and overall an incredible, warm, kind and amazing human being.
We wish you the BEST retirement, and we thank you for the legacy you leave in our trust to continue to carry. WE LOVE YOU!!!
